Adding Your Domain to HEIMWALL

To add your domain to HEIMWALL, you create a new WAF Zone in the console. The process takes a few minutes; no software installation is required — afterwards you only need to update your DNS record.

  1. Sign in to the console and in My Resources → WAF Zone, click New.

  2. Enter your domain in the dialog (e.g. www.example.com) — lowercase, without https://, a port or a path.

  3. Select the Server Placement. For most deployments we recommend Heimwall Cloud, a shared and scalable global pool. Where dedicated capacity is required, you may choose a Private Server Group, provided one is assigned to your account.

  4. Click Create. On the domain’s Addresses page you’ll see the edge IPv4/IPv6 addresses allocated to you.

Your edge addresses are allocated

Based on the server placement you chose — the Heimwall Cloud pool or a Private Server Group dedicated to you — edge IPv4/IPv6 addresses are assigned to your domain. You point your DNS record at these addresses.

Protection turns on automatically

HEIMWALL’s managed rule set and threat-intelligence IP blocklist activate instantly — no extra configuration needed. The OWASP Top 10 scan is optional; enable it from the Rules page whenever you want.

Your SSL certificate is provisioned

Once DNS routing is verified, your certificate is obtained, installed and renewed for you automatically (Let’s Encrypt / ZeroSSL). If you prefer, you can upload your own certificate and use it instead of the automatic one.
